Thor Encounters, Part I

THORIAN PHILOSOPHY
Mighty sinews might adjust in their direction.

Main Emphasis
(d20)
1-2. Stand up to giants and other oppressors
3-4. Show honor and courage!
5-6. Become strong, not some girly-man
7-8. Enjoy strong drink and sport too!
9. Hallowing, Borders
10. Fertility
11. The oak
12-20. All are emphasized

For example, if a cleric of Thor focused on enjoying strong drink and sport too, then he could get a +2 bonus to his Strength when partaking of both (rather than +1, since it has a requirement, and it might also cause a penalty to other rolls) and even have magical side-effect result #3 (Power Nap!) be treated as result #4 as well (Time for Some Calisthenics) instead.

===========================

Optional Rule: Allowing Other Than Prepared Spells to Be Cast
For those feeling limited by prepared spells, cleric-types can cast other types of spells instead of the ones they have ready. The most popular choice would be healing spells, though others, such as divinatory spells can be cast as an alternative (as described for the Volva/ Seidkona, listing under Freya - link).

In return, such cleric-types can only fight as magic-users, give up uses of their divinity's mysteries, or even have other restrictions deemed fitting, in an honest, Thorian way.

Next week: Temples of Thor, Part II!
