Fated Spells & the Laumes
Thanks to the close relationship with her Laume spirits, Laima's priestesses can cast spells that have their durations begin or end at certain times. These triggers increase the level of the spell, but allow them to reflect the weavings of fate in distinct ways.
- Add 1 to the prepared spell's level when setting what would trigger it.
- Add 3 to 6 to its level when setting what would end it, depending on how likely it would be.
- Until expended, the spell still counts as one of the priestess's daily uses at its original level. She cannot prepare that spell use again until the spell occurs.
- Spells without durations can only be affected in this manner by what would trigger them. They cannot be given durations this way.
The spell can be cast to begin or end once the spell's recipient:
- Touches an item: Makes physical contact with a specific type of object, such as a door or a weapon.
- Sees or speaks with one: Spots or communicates with a certain person, plant, beast, thing, or celestial occurrence.
- Uses up a substance or item: Expends something, like burning a candle or sand in an hourglass running out.
- Enters or leaves a certain place: Sets foot somewhere, for example a kitchen, a cave, or a forest.
Laume
Woodland and protective fey, they have been known even before much of Laima's worship. Laumes correspond well with her, being concerned with fate, procreation, and family. Orphans are often watched over by them. They can each appear as either (roll 1d6): [1-3] a fair maiden, [4] a crone, or [5] even bird- or [6] beast-woman. Most are quite benevolent, though like with all fairies, they can also be quite offended if crossed.
Align: L or N, Mve: 40’ (60’ if a beast-woman, fly 80’ with wings), AC: 9*, HD: 3, Atk: 1 (if a crone or beast- or bird-woman), Dmg: 1d6 (stone nipples or claws), SP: +1 weapons or better required to hit, fey immunities (sleep, charm, etc.), fey weaknesses (repelled by iron, etc.), commune with nature (at will), speak with animals (at will), invisibility (at will), plus 1d2 of the following, 2d2 if a maiden (roll 1d4):
[1] winged, can fly, [2] bless (3/day), [3] control weather (3/day), [4] charm person (3/day), SV: E3, Mor: 6
Note: any magic they use are often Fated Spells (see above).

Laima encounters
Whether what befalls someone in their destined life, or divined via a priestess or žynė of Laima, one's fate is woven, showing both trends and flows, tracing the lines upon our palms. Each can be granted a + or -1 1d6 for rolls related, multiplied by 25% if need be. Modifiers of 5 or 6 will point to especially notable events.
Roll for the categories below. They can be rerolled every 1d12 months too, though most folk are fated to have their lives follow certain trends. Those who aren't intended for much can at least appreciate the ones they love who do, even if experiencing ailment or being unloved or without hope themselves.
